How to Sharpen Up Your Mental Skills in Playing Bingo
Bingo is quite easy to play but for some beginners, it is a big surprise on how often they have to hit their forehead because they have missed to mark or fill in a certain square in their card. This is not the case for bingo experts and professionals because they already have developed their mental skills and concentration due to repeated plays. For those who are not well practiced to use their mental skills, here below are some tips that could help.
Disregard the numbers on the left side of the square. Reading the numbers on the card backwards can save you a little time. For example, if the caller called the number B-13, look first on the right-hand side of the B column and look for 3s. When you see a number 3 then look to the left side for a number 1.
Always keep in mind the pattern for the particular bingo game. For a beginner, keeping up with the numbers being called by the caller can be tricky and confusing while at the same time keeping in mind the pattern. Oftentimes, a beginner may not realize that they already have a bingo because their card is so marked up that they can't even see the pattern. It is better to pre-daub all the squares that are not needed on that particular pattern. Always remember that in certain bingo games, most or many of the squares are not needed in the pattern.
If for example the bingo game pattern is a picture frame wherein you must mark all the squares along the four edges of the card, then pre-daubing all the squares inside the card could be a lot of help. By this, the player could pay more attention and can concentrate more to the important numbers.
Just like if the pattern is a little diamond where the spaces that needs to be marked are just the four squares immediately surrounding the free space, pre-daubing the other not important spaces could make the player concentrate more to the pattern and could give a player a chance to comfortably play and keep track of other more additional cards.
Eventually as the player develops the mental skills that come from repeated plays, he might find that pre-daubing may not benefit him that much. Just by visualizing the pattern, the player might keep an eye on more cards and can dash his eyes from card to card.
Playing bingo repeatedly could sharpen up your mental skills and could make you cope up with the game just like a professional. It could make you feel comfortable and can concentrate more to the game, while at the time enjoying your game.
